This particular entry is more about a pattern in the media revolving around a theory in the ancient alien/cryptoterrestrial field.
What's a cryptoterrestrial?
"The cryptoterrestrial hypothesis was developed in Tonnies's blog, and later published posthumously. It proposes that extraterrestrial beings are actually mysterious and secretive races of earthly origin. These races have existed upon Earth for at least as long as humanity, and present themselves as extraterrestrials or occult beings." -Mac Tonnies at wikipedia
First off, there is this idea that whatever beings might dwell in the inside of (or in between spaces shared with us) the earth are demonic, if not simply, daemonic. Not only do these beings get mention in a ton of ancient records from around the world, but they have a new contemporary form, which may be born entirely out of science fiction...
First off in the Eternals comic books, Jack Kirby calls these creatures the Deviants, giving them an accurate cryptoterrestrial history ( as far as incorporating many theories from the time into the Deviants)
Then there's these guys, the Daemonites, from the Wildcats comics. They have been on earth forever, and are running abduction and hybridization programs...
I won't get started on how technically Cobra are cryptoterrestrials or even Shredder and the Hand...
Then, following the theory, but not so much the same look, we have the Tremors films...
which mirrors a creature in Beetlejuice, Star Wars, and Phantoms...
and then in video games...
Call of Duty:Black Ops-Extinction Mode
"Extinction is a game mode featured in Call of Duty: Ghosts. In the vanilla game, the mode was listed as "Extinction", however it has since been renamed in the menus to "Alien Extinction". The game mode features up to four players fighting Cryptids (enemies similar to aliens) in outbreak sites where the Cryptids have overrun the area."-Call of Duty wikia
